Video Released Showing the Moment Molavi “Yousef Gorgij” Was Shot Dead by Gunmen in Zahedan
According to Baloch Media, today—Tuesday, September 15, 2026—media outlets affiliated with the IRGC released a video showing the moment Molavi “Yousef Gorgij,” the prayer leader of the Mohammad Rasul-Allah Mosque in Zahedan, was killed; the CCTV footage captures the moment gunmen opened fire on him.
In the video, armed occupants of a white Peugeot Pars vehicle stop near Molavi Yousef Gorgij and shoot at him. No further details regarding the identities or motives of the perpetrators have been released so far.
Molavi Yousef Gorgij was a figure close to the Islamic Republic in Sistan and Baluchestan and a supporter of the government’s policies; in recent years, he had frequently appeared at state ceremonies and events.
According to videos received by Baloch media, he had attended various government events—including last year’s February 11 (22 Bahman) rally—where he chanted slogans praising Ali Khamenei.
The last interview of his published by IRGC-affiliated media took place during the funeral ceremony for military personnel killed in the clashes in the Bakhshan district of Saravan.
