The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dubai announced that ten Iranian Baloch fishermen previously detained in the United Arab Emirates have been released.
According to an official diplomatic statement, the released fishermen departed the UAE on a flight from Dubai to Bandar Abbas, returning directly to Iran.
The Iranian consulate provided no further details regarding the date, exact location, or underlying cause of the fishermen’s original arrest, nor did it disclose particulars regarding their legal proceedings.
The news comes against a backdrop of heightened regional tensions, amid which maritime activities and vessel movements in the Persian Gulf and Makuran sea face severe security restrictions. Recent reports indicate growing operational hazards and logistical constraints for local fishermen navigating southern Iranian waters.
