Downing of Military Drone and Quadcopter; Mortar Shells Fail to Detonate; Heavy Resistance by Armed Men
According to reports received by Baloch Media today, Tuesday, October 13, 2026 (Mehr 21, 1405), more than 12 hours into the heavy clashes in Taftan County, newly received images and documentation from the armed men’s positions in the highlands of the “Chah-Ahmad” region have revealed new dimensions of this day-long conflict.
Based on images and videos obtained by Baloch Media from the clash site in the highlands of “Siah-Loop” Mountain, the wreckage of a combat drone and a reconnaissance quadcopter belonging to military forces can be seen at the armed men’s positions; these aircraft had been targeted and shot down by the fighters.
Furthermore, the vast quantity of spent shell casings found at the armed men’s positions indicates a sustained engagement and hours of steadfast resistance against the heavy volume of fire from military and auxiliary forces. Other images show mortar shells fired by IRGC forces that embedded themselves in the ground upon impact but failed to function or detonate.
Baloch Media had previously reported that the conflict began at 6:00 AM today with the arrival of an 18-vehicle convoy of “Fatemiyoun Division” proxy militia motorcyclists—deployed from the “Sarkal Qaleh-Bid” base—into the Chah-Ahmad and Arzan-Tak areas. In the initial hours, these forces were ambushed by the armed men; more than 20 Fatemiyoun militiamen were killed or wounded during the attack and subsequently evacuated from the scene in military vehicles. Following this heavy blow, more than forty reinforcement vehicles—alongside reconnaissance and combat aircraft—were dispatched to the area and proceeded to fire mortars and heavy weaponry blindly toward the mountains.
The persistence of these tensions, coupled with the release of visual evidence showing downed military aircraft and unexploded mortar shells, stands in stark contrast to the claims made by state media in the immediate aftermath, which had asserted that the clash had ended quickly and the area was fully under control.
