Execution of another Baloch prisoner in Torbat Jam prison

According to Hale Vash/Sahargah today, on May 04, 2023, the death sentence of another Baloch prisoner was executed in Torbat Jam Prison without the family’s information due to drug-related charges.

The identity of this Baloch prisoner, Idris Gergij, born in 1371, a married child with five children from the Karimabad region of Zahedan, has been confirmed.

According to a source familiar with the situation: “Idris was arrested in Torbat Jam in December 2021 on drug charges and sentenced to death by the revolutionary court of this city, and his sentence was executed this morning.”

It should be mentioned that including the execution of this prisoner, at least 20 Baloch prisoners, including two women, have been executed in the country’s prisons in the last five days.

It should be noted that at the same time as the nationwide protests in the country, the execution of Baloch citizens has increased significantly, so that from August 29, 2022 to May 04, 2023, at least 124 Baloch citizens have been executed in various prisons of the country. Activists consider this large amount of execution of citizens as a form of revenge and retaliation by the government against the oppressed Baloch minority.
