Sexual Harassment by Fatemiyoun: Attempted Assault on a Baluch Woman and Requests for “Sigheh” (Temporary Marriage)
Reports of attempted sexual assault on children in the Samsur area; expansion of Fatemiyoun and Zainabiyoun deployments in Baluchestan.
According to Baloch Media news reporter from inside Baluchestan’s—today, Sunday, September 20, 2026 (Shahrivar 29, 1405)—and based on multiple, verified reports, Fatemiyoun militiamen in the Samsur area (part of the Kurin District, Zahedan County) harassed a Baluch woman traveling by motorcycle with her husband and pursued the couple. Additionally, these militiamen inquired about temporary marriage—known as “Sigheh”—and made sexually explicit requests of local children.
Reports regarding these incidents are being sent to Baloch Media on a continuous, daily basis.
According to the information received, a Baluch citizen traveling by motorcycle with his wife in the Samsur area was pursued by Fatemiyoun militiamen. Despite the pursuit, the citizen managed to escape the area and reach safety.
In the same area, Fatemiyoun militiamen have questioned local Sunni Baluch residents about the procedures for temporary marriage and expressed interest in entering into “Sigheh” arrangements with local women. It should be noted that temporary marriage is considered highly taboo in Baluch culture and is viewed as an “illegitimate” practice within the Sunni faith.
Furthermore, these militiamen have made sexually explicit requests of children in the area. Haal Vash is publishing these details based on verified information received from local sources.
Local sources have also reported that Fatemiyoun forces have forcibly seized, slaughtered, and consumed livestock belonging to local residents. According to these reports, the legs of livestock owned by local nomads have also been shot. These actions have caused severe concern and discontent among the residents of the areas where these militiamen are present. These reports are reaching *Haal Vash* amidst a recent stream of daily accounts from various parts of Sistan and Baluchestan regarding the presence of Fatemiyoun and Zainabiyoun militiamen, who have been observed patrolling, stopping, questioning, and harassing Baluch citizens.
According to received information, hundreds of Fatemiyoun and Zainabiyoun militiamen have been deployed across various areas surrounding Zahedan, Mirjaveh, Rask, Gasht, Saravan, Zabol, Sib-o-Suran, Chabahar, Konarak, Zarabad, Mehrestan, and Iranshahr.
In the north of the province, these militiamen are stationed in the villages of Ladiz, the area behind the Gazu Dam, and Junabad in Mirjaveh County. Other deployment sites include the Padag area in Lar District, parts of Kurin, and the Rudmahi area in the Hasaruiyeh region of Zahedan.
Deployments have also been reported in the central and southern parts of the province, specifically in the Shahr-e Deraz area of Iranshahr and in regions surrounding Iranshahr, Chabahar, Konarak, Rask, Dashtiari, and Zarabad.
Unlike earlier reports that focused primarily on the stationing of these forces at military bases, new information indicates that Fatemiyoun militiamen are also present in villages and residential areas inhabited by Baluch citizens, where they conduct patrols and engage directly with local residents.
Reports from the Samsur region indicate that this presence extends beyond mere patrolling; incidents have occurred involving the pursuit of citizens, harassment of women, inquiries regarding *Sigheh* (temporary marriage), sexual solicitations directed at children, the seizure and slaughter of livestock belonging to locals, and the shooting of animals owned by nomads. Local sources continue to report the handover of certain local Basij bases to the Fatemiyoun and Zainabiyoun militias. According to these reports, the IRGC has transferred control of bases—previously held by local forces—to fighters affiliated with these groups in several areas.
A few days ago, the IRGC held a meeting at the Bam-e Zahedan recreational area with tribal leaders from Zahedan and the Kurin district, aiming to justify the presence of these non-Iranian militias by citing the goal of “ensuring the security of the Baluch people.”
These statements come amidst daily reports from citizens across the province describing checkpoints, patrols, vehicle stops, interrogations, pursuits, and harassment carried out by Fatemiyoun and Zainabiyoun militiamen. The news outlet *Baloch Media* has received numerous reports regarding these incidents and is currently documenting them.
The deployment of forces affiliated with the Zainabiyoun Division—comprising Pakistani Shiites—to parts of southern Sistan and Baluchestan had previously been reported. With the expansion of Fatemiyoun’s deployment sites, the simultaneous presence of forces affiliated with both groups has increased in various parts of the province.
