Keep making such senseless remarks to fool Rawalpindi. The real issue isn’t whether Baloch armed groups prepare a thousand suicide bombers or ten thousand, or whether they can break Pakistan that way. The fundamental problem is that through these actions, they will continuously create unrest in Pakistan’s largest and geographically most important province, disrupt national and international projects, paralyze the government system, and make it difficult for the state to conduct routine affairs.

But perhaps for people like you, this unrest is beneficial because as long as Balochistan remains mired in instability, people like you will stay seated in the halls of power. Otherwise, your political and administrative stature might not have risen beyond the rank of tehsildar or assistant commissioner. Balochistan’s tragedy is that here, unrest has become not a problem for some people, but a means to maintain power.

As for chief ministers, how many elections have truly been called free, fair, and impartial in Balochistan since the 1970 elections? Sometimes the military imposed people of its own choosing on our heads, sometimes Jam Yusuf, sometimes Jam Ghulam Qadir, sometimes Qudus Bizenjo who won just 540 votes, and sometimes other individuals like you. Tell us, when were the people of Balochistan ever given the right to freely elect their leadership? Did the people of Balochistan elect you and send you to Islamabad?

From August 2023 until today—that is, in nearly three years—your policies and style of governance have inflicted as much damage on Balochistan and fueled as much hatred and alienation against the state in the hearts of the Baloch people as the Baloch insurgency might not have reached in twenty years.

Let’s take a look at the statistics too. In August 2023, when you became caretaker prime minister, and in March 2024 when Sarfraz Bugti became chief minister, in the very next year—2024—attacks by Baloch armed groups recorded a 119 percent increase compared to 2023. Then, in the 2026 Global Terrorism Index, Pakistan was for the first time ranked as the world’s most terrorism-affected country, where 1,139 deaths from terrorism were recorded in 2025. In July 2026 as well, deaths from armed attacks and counteractions in Pakistan rose so sharply that it became the deadliest month of the year, with the situation deteriorating the most in Balochistan.

Now the question is, why did conditions deteriorate so badly after you came to power? Have you ever seriously considered that attitudes of hatred, deprivation, and oppression toward the Baloch people could further strengthen resistance against the state? And as for the use of force, according to Balochistan government officials, in the same year, the government approved 18 laws under the National Action Plan, the counter-terrorism policy, and the provincial action plan; established 17 institutions and departments; spent over 14 billion rupees on counter-terrorism measures; and conducted 60,000 operations. But the question is, despite all these measures, did the Baloch insurgency decrease? Congratulations to you on such policies, the results of which the entire Pakistan is now paying the rising price of terrorism for.

We need to seriously reflect on what has happened from 2024 until today that has turned the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) into such a massive security challenge for Pakistan? If you truly want peace in Balochistan, then answer these questions. Mere threats, use of force, and senseless claims will neither end the insurgency nor restore the people’s trust.
