QUETTA: A traffic policeman was killed by unknown gunmen in Pishin town, while another man was killed by an assailant in the Mastung area, on Thursday.
Police said the traffic constable, identified as Abdul Ghafoor, was on duty in the main city area when unknown people on motorbikes opened fire on him using automatic weapons. He died on the spot and the attackers escaped.
Police rushed to the site and shifted the body to district hospital Pishin.
“The policeman received multiple bullet injuries which caused his death,” police said and termed it target killing. Further investigation was in progress. No arrest was reported so far.
Meanwhile, armed assailants killed a man identified as Ali Bakhsh in the Mastung area. Police said that the victim was on his way home in Killi Yaqoobzai Sheikhan when he was attacked. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Police shifted the body to the district hospital, where medico-legal formalities were completed before handing the body over to the family. As of now, the motive behind the killing remains unknown.
