Islamabad: Pakistan has given a big blow to its closest friend China over the Gwadar Port.

Pakistan had promised China that it would allow it to build a naval base at Gwadar port. China has also invested a huge amount of about $ 60 billion in the name of China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Now when China has started demanding Gwadar Port from Pakistan for the naval base, Pakistan’s army has started blackmailing its all-weather friend China. The Pakistan Army has told China that it will have to provide it a second-strike nuclear capability if it wants to take over Gwadar port.
The Pakistani army demanded that China should first give technology to retaliate nuclear attack only then Islamabad will hand over the Gwadar port to China. The technology of retaliatory nuclear strike is so destructive that if China shares it with Pakistan then it will land in big trouble and if it does not share the technology then also it will bring trouble for China.

Pakistan is working on new missiles that can hit the USA. Recently, a meeting of senior military and government officials of Pakistan and China was held. In this, there was an in-depth discussion about the future of Gwadar Port located in the restive Balochistan province of Pakistan. In this meeting, the Pakistani army started negotiating with China. Pakistan said that if China wants to build a naval base at Gwadar Port, it will get it only if Beijing gives it the ability to retaliate nuclear strike and also huge military and economic assistance.
Pakistan has long wanted to catch up with India and achieve the nuclear triad. This is very important for a retaliatory nuclear attack. This blackmail of Pakistan did not go down well with China. China rejected this threat of Pakistan on the spot. Not only this, China also stopped any future talks on this subject. China continues to arm Pakistan but the power of retaliatory nuclear attack can also put it in trouble.

If China gives nuclear submarines and missile silo technology to Pakistan to retaliate nuclear attack, then it can lead to heavy sanctions from around the world. Not only this, if China violates the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) to help Pakistan, then it will be isolated in the world.

China is a signatory to the NPT and has the status of a nuclear weapon state. The treaty provides for a very strict provision that nuclear weapon states will not transfer nuclear bombs, their technology or related materials to any non-nuclear weapon state.

In such a situation, if China fulfills the demand of the Pakistani army, then it will be trapped. China is also not happy that Pakistan did not allow its navy to visit Gwadar Port during the Sea Guardian III joint naval exercise. Pakistan has strongly opposed China’s presence on this strategically important and sensitive Gwadar port and that is why Islamabad did not allow the Chinese army to go there. Gwadar is near Iran, where US aircraft carriers often patrol.
