Balochistan National Party (BNP) Chairman Akhtar Mingal announced his resignation from the National Assembly. “It’s better for me to open a deli than to stay in politics,” he said.
Akhtar Mingal said during a press conference in Islamabad: Today I announce my resignation from the parliament. “I have not shared this with anyone, but now I am revealing it at this press conference.”
Akhtar Mingal stated that he could not do anything for his people and he took this decision after observing the situation in Balochistan. He declared his lack of trust in the government, the president and the prime minister and said: I express complete distrust in the entire system.
He further added that there is no interest in addressing the issues of Balochistan and he cannot do anything for his people. “Whenever I try to bring this up, it goes dark. Government in this country is only nominal. It is better for me to open a delicatessen than to stay in this policy. I apologize to the 65,000 voters who will be upset with me.
Sardar Akhtar Mangal also expressed his views on social networks and said: “On the third anniversary of the death of my father, Sardar Attaullah Mingal, I offer my condolences to him with the resignation of the MP. I, Akhtar Mingal, a member of the National Assembly, resign from my position as a member of the parliament.
He said that the current situation in Balochistan forced him to do this. “Our province has been constantly ignored by this parliament. Every day we are more and more on the sidelines and it leaves no choice but to review our role. Due to the lack of real representation for the people of Balochistan in this parliament, voices like mine cannot make a meaningful change.
He went on to say: It is clear that any protest or expression of opposition is always met with opposition. Our people are either silenced, labeled as traitors, or worse, killed. In this situation, I find it impossible to continue working in this position, because my presence here no longer benefits the people I represent.”
In the end, he said: Therefore, I request that my resignation be accepted. May God protect Balochistan and grant it prosperity.”
