The explosions were so intense that they happened outside our house (Turbat)

After the attack of militants near Turbat Airport, local citizens told BBC that around ten o’clock in the night, the first explosion and then heavy firing started.

BLA  says its suicide brigade fighters have entered a military base in Turbat “Baloch Liberation Army’s Majeed Brigade has succeeded to breach enemy’s security measures and entered its Naval airbase in Turbat. The attack commenced at 10pm on Tuesday,” BLA spokesman said.

Today’s attack in Turbat is BLA Majeed Brigade’s second attack of the week and the third attack of this year. It targeted Mach city on 29th January, Military Intelligence’s headquarters in Gwadar on 20th March and today it has attacked Pakistan’s second largest Naval airbase in Turbat.

A citizen living near Turbat Airport said on the phone that ‘the series of explosions and firing started around ten o’clock and continued for about 45 minutes.’

According to the citizen, ‘after 11 o’clock there was silence for some time, but after that there were two or three loud explosions which were more intense than the previous explosions.’ He said that ‘the intensity of these explosions was so high that we felt as if they happened outside our house.’

The sounds of intense firing can also be heard in the videos that the citizen sent to the BBC.

When contacted again late at night, the said citizen said that around 1 am the firing had stopped and ‘helicopters are flying over the airport and its suburbs.’

Residents of this area say that the break in the shooting continued for about two hours, but around three o’clock, the sounds of firing started coming from the airport again.

The military authorities have not yet provided any information about this attack, but according to the commissioner of Makran division, the clearance operation is still going on in the area and the situation will be clear only after its completion.
