The forced imprisonment of Baloch students in educational institutions is an expression of a policy based on colonial bias. BSO

The central spokesperson of the Baloch Students Organization said in a statement: Educational institutions across the country, including Balochistan, present scenes of government prisons. Educational activities have been severely affected by militarization in educational institutions. Students are suffering from severe mental anguish and anxiety due to fear and terror. BSO strongly condemns such ugly tactics and believes that the forced imprisonment of Baloch students in educational institutions is an expression of a policy based on colonial bias.

The spokesperson said: While ordinary life is affected by the genocidal policies of the ruling forces across Balochistan, there is a conspiracy to convert higher education institutions into government prisons, curb the intellectual abilities and creativity of the conscious layer of the society and push them into the darkness of ignorance. All educational institutions including University of Balochistan, Bolan Medical College, Lasbela University, Otel and Torbat University are displaying scenes of chaos in their educational activities. Students are protesting day by day against the oppressive approach of the administration.

The spokesperson further said that due to the unsanitary and unsafe conditions of educational institutions in Balochistan, most of the students go to Punjab for further higher education. But Baloch students there too are unsafe and suffer from mental torture. Baloch students are constantly harassed by unnecessary interrogations based on their identity. Yesterday, L.A. University of Punjab L. BK student was discriminated against on the basis of security and identity concerns. It is worth noting that this is not the first incident of its kind in Punjabi universities where students are facing racial discrimination, rather such incidents are part of the norm.

The spokesperson said that the Baloch Students Organization not only condemns the administrative attitudes based on ethnic and national bias. Rather, it is committed to an uncompromising fight against policies based on racial chauvinism in institutions of higher education.
